Designing a Digital Telecom Rectifier

Description
The design of a 1000W, 48V AC/DC power supply is described. This power supply consists of an interleaved PFC stage followed by a phase shifted full bridge, all controlled by a single UCD9501 digital controller. The design steps leading to the development of the digital control effort for the converter are outlined and compared to the equivalent steps for an analog design. The digital compensator for the full bridge DC/DC converter is described as an instructive example of doing a digital design.
