Beating Discrete solutions with Integrated Load Switches - Introduction

Discrete MOSFET switching solutions are found in almost all end equipments, turning on and off various power supply rails. However, many protection features are often difficult to accomplish with discrete solutions. This presentation will give an overview of integrated load switch protection features including inrush current control, power sequencing, controlled power down, and reverse current blocking. This session will also discuss common design challenges that can be solved using integrated load switches, including exercises on identifying and replacing discrete solutions on customer schematics.
