As the adoption of distributed power storage, micro-grids and EV chargers becomes more widespread, design engineers have an opportunity to reduce bill of materials and increase power density for these applications using bi-directional DC/DC converters. This presentation will review the different topologies of bi-directional DC/DC converters and their pros and cons for applications such as gate drivers and control, current and voltage sensors.
