Contactless patient and elderly care using mmWave sensors
With over 703 million persons ages 65 years and over in the world in 2019, the number of older persons is projected to double to 1.5 billion in 2050. Falling is among the most damaging event elderly people may experience. Ever-growing aging population has driven and continue to drive innovations in assisted living, earlier with wearable, now contactless sensing with mmWave sensors along with Internet of things (IOT) bringing a new dimension to elderly care.
In this demo IWR6843, a single-chip sensor detects people in the living spaces such as a bedroom and monitors fall events ,vitals signals like heart rate, breathe rate and quality of sleep without invading privacy. This critical vital monitoring information and/or the fall event is relayed for remote monitoring over Wi-Fi using the SimpleLink Wi-Fi CC32xxx device. This demo showcases customer/Third party product that uses IWR6843AOP+C2000 device and an internal reference with IWR6843+C2xx is planned as well.
