An ADC is only as precise as its voltage reference. In this video, we will review some key reference specifications and analyze how reference noise contributes to the total noise in an ADC system. Also, as not all ADCs include an integrated reference, we will discuss how the reference voltage is sampled and compare single- and multi-chip solutions for generating your ADC reference voltage.
