Electrolytic and tantalum capacitors

In this lecture, we will learn:
- Electrolytic capacitors provide huge energy storage density.
- Their large equivalent series resistance (ESR) and equivalent series inductance (ESL) limits them to low-frequency use.
- Electrolytics use a liquid electrolyte that is often a point of failure.
- Tantalum can be used with solid electrolytes, but its status as a conflict mineral and the quality of ceramics have largely displaced it.
