Silicon Carbide MOSFETs have been adopted as promising candidates for high voltage applications to achieve more efficient and compact systems. Comparing with IGBTs, SiC MOSFETs have more stringent short circuit protection requirements. This training will cover different fault types of short circuit conditions, short circuit protection methods, characteristics and short circuit behaviors of SiC MOSFETs, and gate driver requirements of short circuit protection for SiC MOSFETs.
