TI’s integrated GaN motor drive with 150mOhm LMG3410R150. This GaN based motor drive has no forced air cooling and has 85% smaller heatsink. Due to its small form factor, it is designed to be integrated into motor where ambient temperature goes up to 85C. Once everything is moved inside the motor, 75% on the factor floor spacing can be achieved, and three phase power cables and communication cables can be eliminated, which otherwise goes all the way up to the cabinet. Usually robotic arms that are used in the factory automation have 5-6 axis. So all the savings has to be multiplied with the number of axis. These result in huge savings on the system level.
