4.2 High-side devices – bootstrapping

Description

March 26, 2021
In this lecture, we will learn:
  • Not all devices have their source referenced to ground.
  • Gate drivers must still provide gate-source voltage, even if the source is at a high or varying voltage.
  • Boostrapping stores energy in a capacitor, whose voltage is referenced to the source.
