High side switches: Driving, diagnosing and protecting loads in industrial applications

Industrial applications regularly have to provide power to off-board loads leading to a requirement for High Side Switches to drive these loads. However, high side switches are also responsibly for safely handling any load faults and providing intelligence back to the system. This training will discuss the fundamentals of high side switches, looking at what they do and where they fit into industrial systems, before jumping into the key technical considerations involved in in driving, diagnosing and protecting loads. The training emphasizes the importance of proper care while driving capacitive and inductive loads, managing short-circuit events, and then discusses how to utilize the diagnostic tools available in modern high side switches.
