Market trends in an EV powertrain systems suggest integration of the multiple functions including On-board charger (OBC), DC/DC converter, and Traction inverter into two or one boxes. This requires high control performance from MCU and also systems needs to be fulfill the functional safety requirements in EV powertrain. C2000 real-time MCUs support higher performance required for automotive control applications and support for functional safety, such as functional safety collateral including Safety Manual, FMEDA and Software diagnostic library, etc. In this presentation, you will learn about C2000’s differentiated control performance, and see how the traction inverter, software resolver interface, and DC/DC converter have been integrated into one single C2000 MCU. The differentiated analog and digital real-time control peripherals enable the high-RPM traction motor control, software resolver decoding at high speed, and hardware-based peak current mode control of a phase-shifted full-bridge DC/DC converter.
