4.9 Addressing EMI challenges for high side switches and motor drivers in body electronics

Semiconductor power switches and motor drivers are continuing to replace relays for driving various loads in cars such as headlight bulbs, window motors and wiper motors. This is because semiconductor based solutions not only result in smaller form factor and lower weight PCBs but will also enable fine control of the actuators which otherwise is not possible with relays. While these enhanced features enable better overall solution, they also introduce technical challenges.
