Better automotive light sensing with OPT3001-Q1
[CHIMES] [WHOOSH] This is the Texas Instruments OPT3001-Q1, an automotive-grade, I2C-enabled, ambient light sensor. With light-level sensitivity and spectral response tuned to the human eye, and response time in the millisecond range, it as the potential to bring your automotive lighting systems to the next level. Modern automotive applications often involve ambient light sensing to react to external brightness and adjust headlights and internal screens. The OPT3001-Q1 empowers this with precise ambient light measurement and a near instantaneous response, enabling your vehicle to match its lighting environment in real time. Here we can see a demo of this in action on an automotive display. In this setup, a microcontroller reads the brightness level from the OPT3001-Q1 and translates it to a pulse-width modulation signal sent to an LED backlight. With an I2C interface and a small package size of 2 by 2 by 0.65 millimeters, the OPT3001-Q1 fits in neatly with any electronic system. Check it out at TI.com to get started. [MUSIC PLAYING]
