Isolated Power Supplies for PLC I/O Modules

The training starts with an overview of an analog input module and typical components used. Next, possible power topologies like push-pull, flyback or fly-buck with their pros and cons. The main part of the training is about the Fly-Buck topology. First, the working principle is explained. Then tips on selecting the best duty cycle. Furthermore, effects of leakage inductance of a transformer are given. The conclusions shows available TI Designs and power designs that use the Fly-Buck topology.
