8.2 The Kg method

In this lecture, we will learn:
- Most magnetics design assumes particular core geometry, but selecting the core is more difficult.
- All of the requirements for the inductor combined yield a metric (Kg) for how well a core will be able to satisfy the specifications before doing a complete design.
- The Kg method should be used for first-pass core selection with further optimization possible.
