TI Precision Labs - Isolation

TI Precision Labs is the electronics industry’s most comprehensive online classroom for analog engineers. The on-demand courses and tutorials pair theory and applied exercises to deepen the technical expertise of experienced engineers and accelerate the development of those early in their career. This modular, on-demand curriculum includes hands-on training videos, covering TI’s isolation design considerations with online course work and quizzes. 

The Isolation curriculum is segmented into major topic learning categories, each of which contains short training videos, multiple choice quizzes, and short answer exercises.

1. Introduction to Isolation

This section of training videos will discuss what isolation is, the three types of isolators, and how they achieve isolation. This course teaches the fundamentals of isolation, including the basics of the technologies used by many different Texas Instruments isolation products. Then, build on the previous lesson by learning the most common isolation parameters, that are important to system designs and selecting the correct isolator product. These parameters describe the maximum voltage stresses that the isolator is designed to handle, and even the differences between a basic and reinforced isolator.
