LDO or Switcher?...That is the Question

Date: September 17, 2015

Designers have historically used LDOs by default for conversions requiring small size and low noise. But with the tiny solution size and excellent EMI performance of the new SIMPLE SWITCHER® Nano Module, these same designers now have a small switching power supply option that meets their size and noise requirements, and with significantly improved efficiency. This training discusses the fundamentals of how LDOs and switchers work, and then compares the performance of an LDO and Nano Module in several real-world design examples.
