For design of gate drive, it is important to understand the basic governing functions of gate drive circuit and associated key parameter to be considered in design. Other novel gate driver specs include the following items, negative input/output voltage handling capability, which discusses the ground noise bouncing during the non-ideal layout introduced parasitics. Propagation delay is a important spec for high switching frequency application where faster response time is needed, for example the timing sequencing between primary side drive and secondary side SR driver. Delay matching normally discussing the two channel gate driver used in parallel driving multiple paralleled switches.
