Precision DACs: AC Specifications

Description

September 30, 2015

In this video, you will learn about the basic DC specifications of precision DACs.  We begin by introducing the ideal DAC transfer function. Then we discuss the errors that cause a DAC to deviate from ideal:

  • Offset and zero-code error
  • Gain error
  • Differential non-linearity (DNL)
  • Integral non-linearity (INL)

We finish by discussing total unadjusted error (TUE), which is an effective way to summarize the DC errors of a DAC.
