On startup, checksums tests are executed by the boot ROM code to verify the integrity of the program flash contents. If any of these tests pass, JTAG comms are disabled by the boot ROM code before control is relinquished to the firmware in program flash. We show the line of code that you need to insert in your firmware to re-enable JTAG comms. The tutorial also shows the modification available via PMBus to the IOMUX register on the UCD device to re-enable JTAG comms, of course to make this modification, the firmware needs to support PMBus.

In this video,  demonstrats how the Uniflash GUI interface could be used in a production setting. The tutorial outlines three different programming scenarios- downloading a boot program- downloading an application program- downloading a boot and an application program together.The tutorial  also shows how to check if the download setting are correct, by downloading the same firmware, firstly via the PMBus UCD device GUI, and secondly via Uniflash. After each download, export the flash contents to a file. Check if the Uniflash settings are correct by comparing the two files.

Please note that this can be a time consuming operation, so it is recommend  doing this as a once off verification step only. Checksum based verification is a much more time efficient way of ensuring that the flash is programming correctly in a production setting.
