Low EMI and Noise performance with DC/DC switching regulators

Achieving low noise and low EMI performance with DC/DC switching regulators

Mitigating switching regulator EMI and noise is seen by engineers as a black art. Mess with the feng shui of the PCB layout too much, and the system may not pass CISPR standards. Because of this, many power designers simply turn to linear regulators as a guaranteed way to avoid the headache of reducing emissions.

Anti-tamper Techniques to Thwart Attacks on Smart Meters

Non-technical losses (“theft”) account for billions of dollars of revenue loss for utility providers around the world as individuals are able to hack meters to slow or stop the accumulation of energy usage statistics. This loss has driven increased requirements for enhancing the protection designed into new smart meters.  This training session will discuss different methods of attacking smart meters and how TI’s analog portfolio can be used to detect or even prevent these attacks. In one scenario magnets are used to saturate any transformers present in the system.

DC/DC Buck Converters: What do all of these features mean?

As switching converters have evolved, they have taken on a host of new features to operate more efficiently and quietly. To some, however, all these new features listed on the front page of the datasheet may seem foreign. This training series dives into those features to explain the true benefits of each and help you decide which are necessary for your power supply design. Specifically covered in this series are the buck converter topics of:

High efficiency power and motor drive systems with C2000, GaN and INA240 current sensing

Designing for high-efficiency power and motor drive applications

Learn about solutions that pair the flexibility of digital power control with C2000 MCUs and in-line current sensing with the high-power efficiency of GaN.

Designing Reliable and High-Density Power Solutions with GaN

GaN is a semiconductor technology that changes the way we design power converters. It does not only make power supplies faster, smaller and cooler, but also reliable at a lower system solution cost. This training will walk you through the fundamentals of GaN technology, GaN based converter designs, and TI's differentiated integrated GaN power stage approach. Design examples includes 99% efficient totem-pole PFC, 1kW LLC switching at 1MHz, 100kHz 48V motor drive and 1ns pulse-width LiDAR.
