The Programmable Real-Time Unit and Industrial Communications Subsystem (PRU-ICSS / PRU-ICSSG) is a small processor that is tightly integrated with an IO subsystem, offering low-latency control of IO pins on TI’s SoC devices including the AM335x, AM437x, AM57x, and AM65x Sitara Processors. The PRU-ICSS / PRU-ICSSG is customer-programmable and can be used to implement simple and flexible control functions, peripherals, and state machines that directly access IO pins of the device, as well as can communicate with the application cores.

66AK2Gx Processor Training Series

TINA-TI Video Training Series

This training series demonstrates the usage of TINA-TI, the free SPICE simulator from Texas Instruments. The course has 12 videos, beginning with an introduction and showing the basic usage of the GUI and the simulator. The course shows several examples of the basic features and some of the more complex features that TINA-TI provides. Additionally, the course shows several practical applications of the tool and how it can be used to solve engineering problems.

Advanced Signal Processing on 16-bit MSP430 FRAM MCUs with Low Energy Accelerator (LEA)

This training series covers LEA or Low Energy Accelerator a vector math co-processor, the performance benchmark, and how to get started on the new MSP430FR599x. LEA is capable of performing various signal processing tasks efficiently without any CPU intervention. For example, LEA can perform a 256-point complex FFT in just ~5k cycles whereas a Cortex-M4F would take approximately 17k cycles (3.6x improvement).

Modern battery powered motor drive applications such as power tools, drones, vacuum cleaners, eBikes, etc. show a clear trend towards permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) and brushless DC motors (BLDC). The biggest challenge in designing the power stage for these applications is to meet form factor, efficiency, protection, peak current carrying capability and thermal performance.
