The TI-RSLK is a low-cost robotics kit and classroom curriculum which provides students with a deeper understanding of how electronic system designs work. Developed with university faculty, Jon Valvano of UT Austin, the TI-RSLK is designed to supplement university curriculum.
Managing heat dissipation has always been a critical concern for any power supply designer, and this concern has only grown in importance as output current levels have increased while IC package sizes have gotten smaller. This page serves as your ultimate resource for all training materials and technical documentation related to keeping your switching regulator running cool.
There are numerous ways to address thermals. This library of training content is broken out by some of these key approaches to improving the thermal performance of your switching regulator.
The C2000™ Piccolo™ MCUs are a family of 32-bit microcontrollers optimized for processor-intensive, real-time control applications. Designed for cost-sensitive applications, TI Piccolo MCUs scale to meet a variety of performance needs, whether controlling single or multiple control loops. Piccolo MCUs use common software and provide a high level of analog integration to deliver:
TI Precision Labs is the electronics industry’s most comprehensive online classroom for analog engineers. The on-demand courses and tutorials pair theory and applied exercises to deepen the technical expertise of experienced engineers and accelerate the development of those early in their career. This modular, on-demand curriculum includes hands-on training videos, covering TI’s isolation design considerations with online course work and quizzes.
In today’s computing environment, CPUs, FPGAs, ASICs and even peripherals are growing increasingly complex and, consequently, so do their power delivery requirements. To handle the higher demands, multiphase regulators are becoming increasingly common on motherboards in many areas of computing--from laptops and tablets to servers and Ethernet switches. Designing with these regulators is more challenging than using conventional switchers and linear regulators, but the benefits of multiphase outweigh the complexity for high-performance power applications.
Simple functions such as timer replacement, input/output expanders, system reset controllers and stand-alone EEPROM are common on PCBs. Low-cost, ultra-low-power MSP430™ value line microcontrollers (MCUs) offer cost savings when replacing digital and analog functions in a system. Watch this series to see how MSP430 MCUs can be used to enhance communication, pulse width modulation, systems and housekeeping, and timer functions in your next design.
The MSP-EXP430FR2433 LaunchPad™ development kit is a member of the MSP430™ Value Line Sensing MCU family. The LaunchPad kit provides a quick evaluation and prototyping tool for the MSP430FR2433 microcontroller (MCU). This series provides an overview of the LaunchPad kit’s features and the out-of-box temperature sensing demo.
The Logic Minute video series make complex ideas related to logic and translation easy to understand in just a couple minutes.

The C2000 F2837xD Microcontroller One-Day Workshop is a hands-on technical course based on the dual-core TMS320F28379D device. This device shares many common features and peripherals found on the other C2000 device families. Therefore, this workshop will be very useful to anyone interested in learning more about the C2000 microcontroller family of devices.
TI Precision Labs is the electronics industry’s first comprehensive online classroom for analog engineers. The on-demand curriculum pairs theory and applied lab exercises to deepen the technical expertise of experienced engineers and accelerate the development of those early in their career. This free modular curriculum includes more than 40 hands-on training and lab videos, covering analog amplifier design considerations with online course work.
This workshop will support the following products - Tiva-C series, MSP430, C6000 and C28x. If you are an AM335x (ARM Cortex A8) user, almost 100% of what is covered in the workshop applies to this target as well with the exception of interrupts and timers. TI-RTOS is mostly target agnostic, so ANY user of ANY TI platform that supports TI-RTOS will learn a ton about the kernel (SYS/BIOS). Also, any Keystone (C66x) users will be able to learn SYS/BIOS in this workshop using the C6748 LCDK platform.
