In this session we will cover fundamentals necessary to use CCSv5 and a JTAG to debug a TI SDK-based U-Boot and Linux kernel on an EVM platform.

Additional information

Pre-work check list:

  • Install and configure VMWare Player v4 or later
  • Install Ubuntu 12.04
  • Install the latest Sitara Linux SDK and Code Composer Studio v5
  • Within the Sitara Linux SDK, run the setup.sh (to install required host packages)
  • Using a Sitara EVM, follow the QSG to connect Ethernet, serial cables, SD card and 5V power
  • Boot the EVM and confirm the Matrix GUI application launcher on the LCD is visible
  • Pull the ipaddr of your EVM and run remote Matrix using a web browser
  • Have a USB to Serial cable (preferable)
