Strengthening signal chain through signal conditioners

Signal Conditioners through redrivers, retimers, and active switches are ideal performance enhancement techniques to improve signal quality for multi-gigabit signals.  This presentation will provide an in-depth look on how to select the optimal signal conditioner given a particular system situation, whether to use linear or limiting redriver, when to select retimer, and how to set the right equalization value to compensate a particular type of signal loss to achieve the desired signal quality for a robust system design.   USB Type-C provides up to 10Gbps USB and 8.1Gbps DisplayPort data throughput. For such high speed signals, it is inevitable that a signal conditioner will be needed in the system design. We will study a few use cases where Type-C applications are benefited by signal conditioners.
