Universal data concentrator supports Ethernet, 6LoWPAN RF mesh and more

This training discusses system and software for a universal data concentrator reference design based on CC131x

IPv6-based communications are becoming the standard choice in industrial markets such as smart meters and grid automation. The universal data concentrator design provides a complete IPv6-based network solution integrated with Ethernet backbone communication, 6LoWPAN mesh networking and more. The 6LoWPAN mesh networking, which adopts an identical layering architecture to the WI-SUN FAN, addresses key concerns such as standards-based interoperability, reliability, security and long-distance connectivity. This design allows controlling and monitoring end devices remotely with a web server accessible via Ethernet backbone communication. This design supports various voltage rails and activates various interfaces to support multiple connectivity devices. This training will cover system- and software-level deep-dives on a new universal data concentrator reference design, which implements a scalable IoT (Internet of Things) gateway solution based on BeagleBone Black, CC1312R/CC1310 wireless MCU and more.
