 We now have a fully qualified Bluetooth® 5 solution for our customers to start developing today and go to production.

Q1. Which TI chips currently support Bluetooth® 5?

CC2640R2F is currently the only device that supports Bluetooth® 5. It comes in 4 different package options from 2.7mm*2.7mm chip scale package to 7x7 QFN with 31 GPIOs. We also have an automotive qualified version with wettable flanks, extended temperature range and full Q100 certification. Q2. Which features of Bluetooth® 5 are you currently supporting?

CC2640R2F with the CC2640R2F SDK v1.35 currently supports Bluetooth® 5 basic rate (1Mbps) and the new high data rate mode (2Mbps). We also provide test modes for the new long range PHYs (125Kbps and 500Kbps).

Q3. Can I test all Bluetooth® 5 PHY’s today?

Yes, test modes for all PHYs are available in our latest CC2640R2F SDK v1.35. It is also possible to use SmartRF Studio PC software to test packet transmission and reception on all Bluetooth® 5 PHYs. Download SmartRF Studio at www.ti.com/smartrfstudio
