This video serves as an overview to the PGA460 Evaluation Module (EVM) hardware, transducer types, and driver modes for ultrasonic sensing. The BOOSTXL-PGA460 includes two modules, the motherboard and daughtercard. The motherboard hosts the PGA460 IC, while the daughtercard provides two options of ultrasonic evaluation. These option include a transformer driven closed top transducer, and direct (bridge) driven open top transducer. Understanding which option to use is the first and most important hardware consideration and decision the user must make before evaluating the EVM in software.
